Canton Quilt Retreat for Shortcations and Createcations

Located in Canton, South Dakota (20 miles south of Sioux Falls), the Canton Quilt Retreat is the perfect hideaway.  The Retreat is a former bank that was built in 1896.  Unpack and start crafting and/or check out Canton’s antique shop, downtown businesses, winery and restaurants, visit Newton Hills or Palisades State Parks, or head to Sioux Falls for shopping and entertainment.

For Your Shortcation:

Enjoy a first floor kitchen-dining-living room combination with a large dining space for 15.  Also on the first floor:  powder room, bedroom with queen and double bed, and shower room.  The kitchen is equipped with cork screw, icemaker and everything to prepare meals and snacks.  The Retreat can easily accommodate 15+ guests.

For Your Createcation:
There’s oodles of common space to sew, craft, dine and relax.  All the comforts of home without the interruptions.  In the 1400 sq. ft. work room, each guest has a five foot table.  Quilters love the the design walls to lay out and try design options for their quilts–much easier than the living room floor!  Scrapbook and cardmaking enthusiasts usually create their own floor plan using all or some of the fifteen 5′ tables and six 4′ tables. For hours of comfortable sewing/crafting, there are adjustable roller chairs, too.  Power towers with USB and C-type are provided for electricity. We have counter height cutting tables/mats, rulers, and pressing stations with irons.  The overhead fluorescent lighting is wonderful.  There are  five cozy bedrooms, comfortable living room and dining room, and a kitchen with everything you need to prepare meals and snacks.  The Retreat has 15 beds for guests.
