Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to send a deposit?

Yes, for first-time visitors, a deposit of $150 holds your reserved weekend.

What if I need to cancel?

Typically, the deposit is non-refundable.  In some cases, the deposit can be used to hold a future reservation.

Do I have to have 15 people in my group to schedule a weekend?

No.  On weekends, a minimum of four people is required.  On weekdays, there are no minimums.

Do you have a minimum stay?

On weekends,
a two-night stay with at least four (4) guests is required.

During the week,
there are no minimum stays or guest requirements.  This works well for last minute retreats.  Think about coming for a night, or two, with your besties.

What about food?

Most guests bring groceries and make their own food.  The kitchen is fully stocked with pots/pans, baking sheets, crockpots, waffle iron, etc.  Real dishes, flatware, and glassware are provided (along with a dishwasher!), too.

If you prefer to dine out, Canton has many options.  Canton Quilt Retreat is located about 25 minutes from Sioux Falls which has hundreds of eateries.

A standard meal plan is also available for $30 per person per “night”.  This includes supper and a breakfast/brunch each night you stay.  Meals plans can also be personalized.  For instance, one group always requests one supper during their stay.

Handicap access?

No. Bedrooms are on the second level.

Are pets allowed?

Sorry, no.

Is bedding, silverware, etc. provided?

Yes. Bring your projects, clothes and personal grooming items…I provide everything else. For quilters, I also have irons/ironing boards, cutting tables/mats, chairs on casters, and design walls.

What if quilting is not my hobby?

Canton Quilt Retreat is a respite for women.  It is about relaxing with your friends and/or family.  If your hobby requires a 6 foot table and a chair –or– a recliner in front of a television, you are welcome to stay.

No.  I do not take bookings for family reunions, weddings, etc.

When is Check-In/Out?
